The Pilgrims On The Camino de Santiago
My Fellow Pilgrims Were The Ultimate Support System.
THE AMAZING PEOPLE ON THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO
I went into the Camino de Santiago hoping for tighter thighs and a perkier bum (thank you!), but little did I know walking 32 days and close to 800km was a true challenge and one that I could not have completed without the support and guidance of my fellow pilgrims. I departed Pamplona as a solo pilgrim, by day five, a crazy group of us magically formed and embraced the Camino together. Daily, we were tested physically, emotionally, spiritually and to know that we had each other to lean on during this adventure was a comfort.
The Camino is about making connections and each of these people embraced, teased, tormented but most importantly provided plenty of laughter and encouragement. We are all in need of relationships where others are a witness to our life. Even though this was a blip in my life’s journey, the imprint is lasting.
I would like to thank all of you for this incredible experience. Maybe next year, The Portuguese Way?!
A big shout out to: Gosia, Pablo, Andreas, Beto, Nakana, Txema, Cuni, Diana, Pedro, Will, Piwi, Thomas, Martina, Elena, Veronica, Vito, Juan, Angie, Jachu, Seth, Mino, Riccardo, Lucas, Fernando, Alan and everyone else who I met on this incredible journey.
